Border wall, Sasabe, AZ.

Trump recently commented about the border wall design he would prefer to a gaggle of reporters on Air Force One. His comments were then put on the record by the White House. As quoted from a  July 13, 2017 Vanity Fair article President Trump said:

“You have to be able to see through it. In other words, if you can’t see through that wall – so it could be a steel wall with openings, but you have to have openings because you have to see what’s on the other side of the wall.”

Trump went on to express his concern that people could be hurt by drug smugglers throwing their loads over the fence and hitting someone on the head! The ignorance expressed by Trump, and supported by his administration, is astounding. I don’t think even John Cena could heave 60 plus pounds of marijuana over an 18 plus ft. wall! And for the record, people just don’t hang out by the wall enjoying leisurely strolls or sipping a coffee at a border wall cafe. As one commenter said on today’s Early Morning Joe he was unaware of any hospital full of concussed patients from being hit in the head with a drug smuggler’s load.

The fact that Trump has fired up the ignorance and hate that was both obvious and latent in the U.S toward immigrants is scary enough. The fact that he wants to destroy environments, cultures, communities and families while strapping taxpayers with a multi-billion dollar bill over a real life thing that he knows zero about in an area he has visited once (though no wall or locale of wall fits all) is beyond frightening.
